Students will be able to · Use language without Common Grammatical and Spellings Mistakes and use appropriate vocabulary in Business communication · List and explain the goals of business communication. · Describe the patterns of business communication. · Explain the communication process. · Identify communication barriers and describe ways to remove them. · Identify words that your receiver(s) will understand and that will elicit the intended response. · Discuss the elements that create clear, concise, and effective sentences. · Develop clear, concise, logical, coherent, and effective paragraphs · Use appropriate alternatives to ensure unbiased language in messages. · Describe the seven standard parts of a letter. · Describe the appropriate use of supplementary parts of a letter. · Format business letters using the full block, modified block, and simplified styles. · Address an envelope properly · Format memos and e-mail properly · Discuss the characteristics of appropriate stationery for letters, memos, and envelopes · Develop clear, concise, logical, coherent, and effective presentation skills · Describe the principles of business communication · Develop interview skills · Develop skills on how to conduct a meeting
